2017 Lois J. Tullio Community Service Awards Announced
John T. Malone & B. Scott Kern to be Honored
The Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership is pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s Louis J. Tullio Community Service Award to be presented at the organization’s Celebration of Excellence Event on Wednesday, November 8th.
John T. Malone & B. Scott Kern served as the CEO and Chair of the Board of Hamot Medical Center respectively when Hamot and UPMC successfully affiliated on February 1, 2011. In the 2 years prior, they worked tirelessly to communicate to the community that the landscape of health care in the U.S. was changing and the time to affiliate with a larger partner was now. Due to John and Scott’s leadership and perseverance, the list of health care services now available to the people of the Erie area is long, impressive, and sustainable. Employment continues to grow and UPMC has invested over $300 million in capital. The investment in people and facilities goes well beyond 2021.
The 2017 ATHENA PowerLink® recipients will also be recognized the evening of the event.
The ERCGP have arranged for the keynote speakers for the event to be the City of Erie Mayor Elect and the Erie County Executive Elect, the day after Election Day. Members of the organization will be among the first to hear from and congratulate the newly elected (or reelected) leaders of our community.
