Cork 1794 Announces New Venture for North East Restaurant
North East, PA – As Cork 1794 transitions to its new location in the West Erie Plaza, the restaurant's fan-favorite bar, The Skunk & Goat Tavern, will expand at its current location in North East.
The Skunk & Goat name is not new to Cork 1794 diners. The popular bar within Cork 1794 is well known for its gastropub style food, international wines, craft cocktails and live music. It is often referred to as The Skunk & Goat by the staff and patrons because of the unique skunk and goat taxidermy that accents the walls in the eclectic lounge area of Cork 1794.
“All the key attributes that made Cork 1794 successful in North East will continue at The Skunk & Goat Tavern as we make this transition,” said Bill Lewis, Managing Partner. “The same team that currently operates Cork 1794 will manage The Skunk & Goat Tavern. Executive Chef Kristian Young and General Manager and Beverage Director Blaine Ballard have created an exciting new food and beverage program that is consistent with the quality and unique menu Cork 1794 has become known for since opening in 2014.”
According to Kristian Young, Executive Chef, “Several of The Cork’s popular dishes will remain on the new Skunk & Goat menu, but we are thrilled to offer new and exciting small plates, appetizers for sharing and signature entrées.”
In addition to Cork’s extensive selection of wines and craft cocktails, local and craft beer selections will expand. Blaine Ballard, General Manager, said: “We are currently working on our own proprietary draught beer recipes as well as more novel surprises!”
“There will be minor changes to the interior to open-up the restaurant and showcase the coveted “vault” private dining room, marble bar and wine room while maintaining the vibrant atmosphere people love,” said Lewis.
Cork 1794 will continue to operate in its current format through the end of the year and transition to The Skunk & Goat Tavern in February 2018. Cork 1794 is scheduled to open its new West Erie Plaza location in the Spring of 2018. For more information about The Skunk & Goat Tavern and Cork 1794, please visit cork1794.com.
