Splash Lagoon to Host Children From John F. Kennedy Center During World Record Attempt
Children from the John F. Kennedy Center will visit Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort on Thursday, June 21 at 11:00 am to participate in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson for a focused, hands-on swim lesson. Following the lesson, the children will receive free admission to the waterpark for a day of fun.
The World’s Largest Swim Lesson will be held at more than 500 pools and water parks in over 20 countries in an effort to break the world record for the largest swim lesson on the same day. Sponsored by the World Waterpark Association and the American Red Cross, the event works to spread the message ‘swimming lessons save lives’ and prevent accidental drownings.
“At Splash Lagoon, safety is our first priority. Our lifeguards are excited to share their knowledge of swimming and water safety with the children from the John F. Kennedy Center,” said Nick Scott Sr., President & Owner of Scott Enterprises, which owns and operates Splash Lagoon. “The World’s Largest Swim Lesson aims to educate as many people as possible, while Splash Lagoon is emphasizing a focused, hands-on lesson with local children from the John F. Kennedy Center.”
Thirty children from the John. F. Kennedy Center will participate in the thirty-minute swim lesson. The media is invited to Splash Lagoon, located on upper Peach Street, for interviews and photos as the children participate in the swim lesson beginning at 11:00 am.
