YMCA's Offer Nationwide Membership Access
YMCAs across the United States and Puerto Rico have joined together to offer reciprocal membership benefits through a nationwide membership reciprocity program.
The YMCA of Greater Erie officially joined the list of more than 700 YMCA Associations nationwide participating in the reciprocal membership benefit program.
Y members who wish to use another Y, must present either a valid photo ID or membership key tag, if applicable, when visiting a Y; upon signing a one-time waiver, the Erie Y member then has full facility access to their visiting Y. There is no extra cost to Y members for this benefit.
Unlike the current “Always Welcome at the Y” program in which Y members may use any Y in the United States when they are traveling, Y members’ utilization is not limited to six visits – rather, members’ visits to visiting Ys are capped at 49 percent of their visits.
“Sometimes, it’s more convenient for members to utilize a Y in a different location when traveling, near a workplace or in another region,” said Tammy Roche, Vice President of Membership, Marketing and Financial Development for the YMCA of Greater Erie. “We see this as a great benefit for area employers with employees working remotely. With our nationwide software, we’ll easily be able to pull utilization reports for employers who are tracking activity as part of a comprehensive employee wellness program.”
Y members should check with their local Y to ensure that their membership type is eligible for nationwide access. To see a complete list of participating Ys, visit ymca.net/nationwide-membership
