Going Green in Erie County

Erie County moved into the green phase on Friday, June 26th as part of Governor Wolf's pandemic response protocol. While the green phase includes loosened guidelines and recommendations, it does not mean business resumes "as normal" as defined in a pre-pandemic environment. Below is our green phase FAQ. Bookmark this page and return frequently as we will continue updating it with the latest information about reopening our economy. More coronavirus information is available on our business resource page as well.

Reminder: Regardless of which phase we are in, the following guidelines remain in place:

  • Wear masks in public.
  • Keep our physical distance of six feet or more.
  • Wash our hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces often.
  • Limit group gatherings and crowds.
What does it mean to be in the green phase?

Are restaurants, bars, and health and wellness facilities open under the green phase?

Yes! Restaurants, base, and health and wellness facilities can open at 50% capacity. Personal care services such as salons must operate by appointment only following these state guidelines. While gyms are not required to operate by appointment only, it is strongly encouraged.
