Become an Erie Ambassador

The 2020 Spring and Fall Erie Ambassador programs have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are planning to resume the program in Spring 2021.

The Erie Ambassador program is designed to give participants a behind the scenes look into the work taking place to move Erie forward. The 12-week course examines numerous aspects of the community, providing in-depth information from some of Erie’s top civic leaders. The content of the program focuses on the intersection of government, private entities, and higher education, which is where productive economic development takes place.

The program is held twice per year, with one session beginning in March and another in September. The Spring program is held for 12 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and the Fall program for 12 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Erie Ambassador Graduates are expected to be just that, ambassadors for the hard work that is taking place to secure Erie’s future as a thriving community.

I would recommend the program to those who are considering relocation to Erie as well as those born and raised in Erie, like myself. Just when you think you have knowledge of your city, you will discover that there is so much more to learn! Erie Ambassador Program is a sneak peek into a variety of our hometown gems.

If you live in the Erie area, I highly recommend signing up for the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership's Erie Ambassador program. I've lived here for approximately 21 years and was astounded by everything that I didn't know about the place I call "home."

I'm a graduate of the Fall 2013 class and was surprised by how much I didn't know about the Erie area. It made me fall a little bit more in love with my hometown and appreciate everything the area has to offer to the community.

The value I derived from the Erie Ambassadors program is two-fold.  First, the program provided me with an opportunity to receive additional context and information about the businesses and industries that help create Erie's identity. Second, the program connected me to a group of fellow residents that are committed to putting our best foot forward and represent Erie with purpose and passion. Networking with this committed group of individuals is invaluable and will certainly yield a return in my professional and personal lives.

This was a great program! As a recent transplant to Erie, Erie Ambassadors allowed me to experience a number of key Erie industries while developing a greater understanding of Erie’s history and lakeside culture.  And I got the opportunity to connect with a great group of people along the way!

The Erie Ambassador program was eye-opening to ALL things Erie and I was able to make connections that I would not have otherwise. I would highly recommend this program to anyone that is even slightly interested in learning more about Erie. You will end the program as a believer of the city and what it has to offer!

I absolutely love the Erie Ambassadors Program; you’ve done a fantastic job with everything and your hard work has not gone unnoticed. I’ve lived in Erie since I was born and it feels like I’ve learned more in the past 3 months than in my 34 years here. To meet the people that uphold the economic structures of the community is an incredibly inspiring and powerful tool. There’s so much more to Erie than meets the eye and this is the only program I know of that offers that kind of education. I only wish everyone in Erie could go through the Erie Ambassadors program- it would undoubtedly garner a wave of optimism and enthusiasm for the future of the city and its people.
